Oriheal Vetosera is a veterinary tablet containing Serratiopeptidase (also known as Serrapeptase), a proteolytic enzyme originally isolated from the bacterium Serratia marcescens found in the gut of the Japanese silkworm (Bombyx mori), manufactured by Oriheal Lifesciences. Available in 10mg and 40mg strengths for weight-based dosing. Serratiopeptidase has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and fibrinolytic properties and is used in veterinary practice for managing inflammation, oedema, and pain in dogs and cats, particularly in post-surgical recovery, musculoskeletal conditions, and non-healing wounds.

Mechanism of Action

• Proteolytic (fibrinolytic) activity: Serratiopeptidase hydrolyses and degrades fibrin, bradykinin, and other inflammatory mediator proteins at sites of inflammation — directly breaks down inflammatory exudate and reduces oedema
• Anti-inflammatory: Inhibits prostaglandin synthesis and reduces bradykinin levels at inflamed tissues — reduces pain and vascular permeability without the GI side effects associated with NSAIDs
• Fibrinolytic: Degrades fibrin deposits in post-surgical sites and non-healing wounds — improves local circulation, reduces scar tissue formation, and promotes wound healing
• Enhances drug penetration at inflamed sites by degrading fibrin barriers — useful as adjunct to antibiotic therapy in abscess management
