Wellcon Allercare Oclacitinib Tablets for Dogs

Wellcon Allercare contains oclacitinib maleate, a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor used in the veterinary management of itching associated with allergic dermatitis and the clinical signs of atopic dermatitis in dogs. For pet parents managing recurrent scratching and skin discomfort, treatment should begin with a veterinary assessment to identify the underlying cause and establish an appropriate care plan.

Available in 3.6mg, 5.4mg and 16mg strengths. Your veterinarian should select the strength, dose and duration based on your dog's body weight, health and treatment needs.

Veterinary Uses

• Management of pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis.

This medicine does not replace investigation of allergy triggers, parasite control or treatment of secondary skin infections. Your veterinarian may recommend additional care alongside the prescribed tablets.

Directions for Use

• Give orally, strictly according to the veterinary prescription and supplied product label.
• Select only the strength prescribed for your dog. Do not substitute strengths or change the dose without veterinary advice.
• May be administered with or without food, according to your veterinarian's instructions.
• Do not start, stop, extend or repeat treatment without consulting the prescribing veterinarian.

Important Precautions

• Do not use in dogs under 12 months of age.
• Do not use in breeding, pregnant or lactating dogs unless specifically advised by the treating veterinarian after reviewing the product label.
• Inform your veterinarian about infections, demodicosis, a history of cancer, other medical conditions and all current medicines before treatment.
• Oclacitinib can affect immune function and may increase susceptibility to infections. Dogs with serious infections or progressive malignant disease require veterinary assessment before use.
• Regular clinical review and blood tests may be recommended during long-term treatment.

Possible Adverse Effects

Vomiting, diarrhoea, reduced appetite and lethargy have been reported with oclacitinib use. Contact your veterinarian if your dog develops adverse effects, signs of infection or worsening skin symptoms.

Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place, protected from direct sunlight, unless the supplied pack label specifies otherwise. Keep out of reach of children and animals.
