Oriheal Palapan Vet is a veterinary prescription palatable tablet containing Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), manufactured by Oriheal Lifesciences. Available in three strengths (10mg, 20mg, and 40mg) for weight-based and condition-specific dosing. Pantoprazole irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+-ATPase (proton pump) enzyme in gastric parietal cells, producing potent and sustained suppression of gastric acid secretion. Palapan Vet is indicated for the treatment and prevention of gastritis, gastric and duodenal ulcers, erosive oesophagitis, GERD, and NSAID- or corticosteroid-induced gastric mucosal damage in dogs and cats.

Mechanism of Action

• Pantoprazole is a substituted benzimidazole PPI — converted to its active sulphenamide form in the acidic canaliculi of gastric parietal cells
• Irreversibly inhibits the H+/K+-ATPase (gastric proton pump) enzyme — the final step in gastric acid secretion; blocks acid production regardless of the stimulus (histamine, gastrin, acetylcholine)
• Produces potent, sustained suppression of gastric acid secretion (up to 24 hours per dose) — significantly more effective than H2 antagonists (ranitidine, famotidine) for acid-dependent conditions
• Creates an elevated intragastric pH environment that promotes healing of peptic ulcers and oesophageal erosions

Directions for Use

• Administer on an empty stomach (30–60 minutes before first meal) for optimal PPI efficacy — proton pump inhibitors require activation in acidic parietal cell canaliculi, and efficacy is improved when parietal cells are actively secreting acid

• Do not crush or split enteric-coated tablets if applicable — confirm with veterinarian
