Do not give where a gastrointestinal obstruction, perforation, or bleed is suspected. Domperidone is a prokinetic: it makes the stomach push its contents onward, and driving movement against a blockage or a perforated gut can do serious harm. Vomiting is a symptom, not a diagnosis. A pet that is retching without producing anything, has a bloated or painful belly, vomits repeatedly or with blood, passes black tarry stools, has eaten a toy, bone, string, or something toxic, or is collapsed or unresponsive needs emergency veterinary care — bloat, a foreign body, and pyometra all present as vomiting and all are surgical emergencies. An unspayed female that is vomiting and drinking heavily needs seeing the same day. Do not stop a proton pump inhibitor abruptly after a long course: acid secretion can rebound above where it started, so your veterinarian will usually taper it. Tell your veterinarian every other medicine your pet takes, as reducing stomach acid changes how some drugs are absorbed. Consult before use in pregnant or lactating animals and in very young animals. Keep out of reach of children.

Directions for Use
