Sihil Dermotil-K is a veterinary medicated antifungal and antibacterial shampoo formulated for dogs and cats. Contains a synergistic combination of Ketoconazole 2% w/v and Chlorhexidine Gluconate 4% w/v, two established active pharmaceutical ingredients used in veterinary dermatology. Designed for the management of fungal skin infections, secondary bacterial skin infections, dermatitis, scaling, greasy coat conditions, and general skin hygiene in pets prone to microbial skin disease. Suitable for use as part of a veterinary-managed topical dermatological treatment regimen.

Composition

• Ketoconazole IP — 2% w/v: Imidazole antifungal agent; inhibits fungal cytochrome P450-dependent enzyme lanosterol 14-α-demethylase, blocking ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes; disrupts fungal cell membrane integrity, increasing cellular permeability and leading to fungal cell death; effective against Malassezia spp. (the primary yeast pathogen in canine and feline seborrhoeic dermatitis and otitis), dermatophytes (ringworm), and other superficial fungal pathogens
• Chlorhexidine Gluconate IP — 4% w/v: Broad-spectrum cationic bisbiguanide antimicrobial agent; disrupts bacterial cell membranes by electrostatic binding, precipitating cytoplasmic proteins and causing cell lysis; bactericidal against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (the primary bacterial pathogen in canine pyoderma and secondary skin infections); residual antimicrobial activity persists on skin surface after rinsing

Indications

• Fungal skin infections — Malassezia dermatitis (yeast overgrowth/seborrhoeic dermatitis), superficial dermatophytosis (ringworm/tinea)
• Secondary bacterial skin infections (secondary pyoderma) — often concurrent with fungal infections, allergic skin disease, or underlying dermatological conditions
• Dermatitis — seborrhoeic, allergic, and microbial dermatitis in dogs and cats
• Scaling and seborrhoea — dry or oily scaling, dandruff, and seborrhoeic coat conditions
• Greasy coat and degreasing — removal of excess sebum and surface lipids in seborrhoeic or greasy coat conditions
• General skin hygiene and microbial load reduction in pets prone to recurrent skin infections

Directions for Use

• Wet the coat thoroughly with lukewarm water
• Apply sufficient quantity of shampoo (approximately 0.5–1 ml per kg body weight) and work into a rich lather
• Massage gently against the direction of hair growth to allow active ingredient contact with the skin surface
• Leave on for 15–20 minutes contact time, then rinse thoroughly with clean lukewarm water
• Use as directed by a licensed veterinarian; frequency of bathing varies by condition severity and veterinary protocol
• Prevent the pet from licking the shampoo during contact time; use Elizabethan collar if necessary

Possible Side Effects

• Skin irritation, itching, redness, or burning sensation at the application site may occur in sensitive animals
