MSD Nobivac DHPPI + L4 Dog Vaccine

FOR PROFESSIONAL VETERINARY USE — to be reconstituted and administered by a licensed veterinarian. Vaccinate only healthy dogs: postpone if your dog is unwell, feverish, heavily parasitised, or immunosuppressed, deworm beforehand as your veterinarian advises, and discuss timing for pregnant bitches. Watch closely for 30 to 60 minutes after vaccination and seek emergency care immediately if you see facial or muzzle swelling, hives, sudden vomiting or diarrhoea, difficulty breathing, pale gums, or collapse. Mild lethargy, slight fever, reduced appetite, or a small soreness or lump at the injection site for a day or two is normal and settles on its own. Cold chain is critical. Store at 2 to 8 degrees C, never freeze the L4 component, and never use a vaccine that has been frozen, has gone warm, or is past its expiry — a vaccine that has lost its cold chain can look completely normal while giving no protection at all. Reconstitute only at the moment of use and inject immediately; do not keep a reconstituted dose. Use aseptic technique, a fresh sterile needle and syringe per dog, and dispose of vials and sharps safely. Protection builds over the weeks following the full primary course, so do not treat a partly vaccinated puppy as protected. Keep out of reach of children.

About This Vaccine

Nobivac DHPPi + L4 is a two-component combination vaccine from MSD Animal Health, combining the freeze-dried live attenuated Nobivac DHPPi with the inactivated tetravalent Nobivac L4. Together, they provide broad-spectrum protection against the most critical infectious diseases in dogs — covering core viral pathogens and four serovars of Leptospira in a single vaccination visit. The combination matters in India in particular: parvovirus and distemper remain common and frequently fatal in unvaccinated puppies, while leptospirosis spreads through water and rodent urine after monsoon flooding and is transmissible to people, so protecting the dog also protects the household.

Component 1: Nobivac DHPPi

Composition (Per Dose — Freeze-Dried)

• Canine Parvovirus (strain C 154): ≥10⁷ TCID₅₀
• Canine Distemper Virus (strain Onderstepoort): ≥10⁴ TCID₅₀
• Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (strain Manhattan LPV3): ≥10⁴ TCID₅₀
• Canine Parainfluenza Virus (strain Cornell): ≥10^5.5 TCID₅₀

Indications

For active immunization of dogs against:

• Canine Distemper (CDV)
• Infectious Canine Hepatitis caused by Canine Adenovirus Type 1 (CAV1/ICH) — via CAV2 cross-immunity
• Canine Parvovirus Disease (CPV)
• Respiratory disease caused by Canine Parainfluenza Virus (CPiV) and Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV2)

Component 2: Nobivac L4

Composition (Per 1 ml Dose — Inactivated)

• L. interrogans serogroup Canicola serovar Portland-vere (strain Ca-12-000): 3,550–7,100 U
• L. interrogans serogroup Icterohaemorrhagiae serovar Copenhageni (strain Ic-02-001): 290–1,000 U

• L. kirschneri serogroup Grippotyphosa serovar Dadas (strain Gr-01-005): 650–1,300 U

Indications

For active immunization of dogs against four Leptospira serovars to reduce infection and urinary excretion:

• L. interrogans serogroup Canicola serovar Canicola
• L. interrogans serogroup Icterohaemorrhagiae serovar Copenhageni
• L. interrogans serogroup Australis serovar Bratislava
• L. kirschneri serogroup Grippotyphosa serovar Bananal/Lianguang

Dosage & Administration

• Reconstitute the freeze-dried Nobivac DHPPi using 1 ml of Nobivac L4 as the diluent
• Administer 1 ml of the reconstituted vaccine by subcutaneous injection
• Inject immediately after reconstitution — do not store a made-up dose
• Available in 1 Dose, 2 Dose, and 3 Dose packs
• Follow vaccination schedules as directed by your veterinarian, and have each dose recorded in the vaccination card

Storage

• Store at 2–8°C in a refrigerator
• Do not freeze the L4 component, and discard any vaccine that has been frozen
• Protect from light and observe the expiry date
• Use immediately after reconstitution
