Oriheal Enerfoxin 200mg Enrofloxacin Tablets

Oriheal Enerfoxin contains enrofloxacin 200mg per flavoured tablet, a veterinary fluoroquinolone antibiotic for dogs and cats. It is intended for veterinarian-guided management of susceptible bacterial infections. The 10-tablet pack is designed for convenient oral administration, with the correct dose and duration determined by the animal's species, body weight, infection, kidney and liver status, and clinical response.

How enrofloxacin works

Enrofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes needed for bacterial DNA replication and repair. This produces bactericidal activity against susceptible bacteria. Use should be guided by the veterinarian, and culture or susceptibility testing may be recommended when appropriate.

Veterinary uses

Depending on the diagnosis and susceptibility of the bacteria, a veterinarian may prescribe enrofloxacin for susceptible bacterial infections involving the skin, soft tissues, urinary tract, respiratory tract, ears, or gastrointestinal tract. It is not effective against viral, fungal, or non-bacterial causes of illness.

Directions for use

• Give orally exactly as prescribed. Do not calculate or change the dose without veterinary advice.
• The prescribed dose and treatment length depend on the animal and the infection. Do not use the same dose for a different pet.
• The tablet may be given directly or with a small amount of food if permitted by the veterinarian.
• Give doses at the recommended times and complete the course. Do not double the next dose if one is missed; contact the veterinarian for instructions.
• Separate enrofloxacin from antacids, sucralfate, iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, aluminium, or mineral supplements when directed, because these can reduce absorption.

Important safety information

• Cats: Do not exceed the veterinarian's prescribed dose. Excess enrofloxacin exposure has been associated with retinal toxicity and blindness in cats. Seek urgent veterinary advice if dilated pupils, light sensitivity, vision changes, or unusual bumping into objects is observed.
• Young animals: Fluoroquinolones can affect developing cartilage. Avoid use in growing puppies and kittens unless specifically prescribed by a veterinarian after considering the risks and benefits.
• Use caution in pets with seizures, kidney disease, liver disease, or a history of cartilage or joint problems.
• Possible adverse effects include reduced appetite, vomiting, diarrhoea, or other digestive upset. Report persistent or severe reactions to the veterinarian.
• Do not use for routine or unconfirmed infections. Inappropriate antibiotic use can promote antimicrobial resistance.
• Tell the veterinarian about all medicines and supplements your pet receives, including theophylline, NSAIDs, antacids, sucralfate, iron, zinc, and mineral products.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack securely closed and out of reach of children and animals.
