Veterinary ophthalmic use — use on the direction of a veterinarian who has examined the eye. A painful eye is an emergency, not an allergy. Squinting or holding the eye shut, pawing or rubbing at it, cloudiness or a blue-grey haze on the surface, a visible wound, thick yellow or green discharge, a pupil that looks different from the other side, or any sudden change in vision can mean a corneal ulcer, glaucoma, or uveitis — all of which can cost the eye within days. Go to a veterinarian, do not reach for drops. Do not use these drops if there is a corneal ulcer, a scratch, or any suspicion of glaucoma. The decongestant component narrows blood vessels, which shrinks redness without touching the cause, so it can mask a deteriorating eye while the owner believes it is improving, and in a predisposed eye it can raise pressure. Never use drops prescribed for another pet or a human. Do not let the dropper tip touch the eye, the eyelid, or your fingers, since that contaminates the bottle. Use one bottle per pet and discard it after the period your veterinarian states once opened, as the preservative does not protect it indefinitely. Stop and seek advice if the eye worsens, becomes more painful, or has not improved within a couple of days. If more than one eye product is prescribed, leave at least five minutes between them. Keep out of reach of children and store as directed on the pack.

Directions for Use

• Wash your hands before and after use
• Gently wipe away discharge with clean damp cotton wool, using a fresh piece for each eye
• Tilt the head back, steady your hand against the head, and pull the lower lid down slightly
• Instill 1 drop into the affected eye 3 times daily for 7 days, or as directed by your veterinarian
• Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or eyelid
• Hold the head still for a moment so the drop spreads instead of being blinked out
• Complete the course your veterinarian prescribes, even if the eye looks better
