Pimocard Pimobendan Chewable Tablets, from Corise Healthcare (Swiss Biocare), are veterinary cardiac medications used to treat dilated cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure (CHF) in dogs. Pimobendan acts as both a positive inotrope (increasing the strength of heart contractions) and a vasodilator (widening blood vessels), improving cardiac output and reducing symptoms of heart failure. It works by increasing calcium sensitivity in heart muscle cells and inhibiting phosphodiesterase III, which helps manage mild to severe CHF due to atrioventricular valvular insufficiency or dilated cardiomyopathy.

Indications/Uses 

• - Management of dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs
• - Congestive heart failure due to AV valvular insufficiency
• - Improves quality of life and survival in CHF
• - Reduces clinical signs of cardiac insufficiency
• - Used in mild, moderate, or severe CHF (NYHA IIa, IIIb, IVc)

Directions for use: 

• 0.5 mg/kg body weight daily, divided into two doses;
• administer orally, as directed by a veterinarian
