VIVALDIS TOCERAPET (TOCERANIB PHOSPHATE) TABLETS FOR DOG
Product details
Vivaldis Toceravet 50 mg Tablets contain Toceranib Phosphate, a targeted anti-cancer medication used in the treatment of certain tumors in dogs. Toceranib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that works by blocking the activity of specific enzymes involved in the growth and spread of cancer cells.
Indications: Toceravet is primarily indicated for the treatment of mast cell tumors in dogs, especially those that are non-resectable (cannot be surgically removed) and recurrent. It may also have off-label use in managing other tumor types, based on veterinary discretion.
Mechanism of Action: Toceranib inhibits several receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) that are involved in tumor growth, blood supply (angiogenesis), and metastasis. By blocking these pathways, it helps to control tumor progression and may improve clinical outcomes.
Dosage and Administration: The recommended dosage and frequency must be determined by a veterinarian based on the dog’s body weight and clinical condition. It is typically administered orally.
Precautions:
Not recommended for use in dogs with gastrointestinal disorders, hepatic or renal impairment, or in pregnant or breeding animals.
Regular monitoring of blood work and clinical signs is advised during treatment.
Side effects may include vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, and lethargy.
Note: Toceravet should be used strictly under veterinary supervision. Handling precautions should be followed as it is a cytotoxic medication.
