Sihil Bactoban Shampoo is a medicated antiseptic and antibacterial pet shampoo specially formulated for the topical care of dogs and cats. It contains Cetrimide IP 2% w/v, a quaternary ammonium compound known for its broad-spectrum antimicrobial action against bacteria, fungi, and certain viruses.

Bactoban Shampoo helps maintain healthy skin and coat hygiene and is widely used as a supportive topical treatment in conditions such as pyoderma, pododermatitis, flaky skin, and itchy scalp in pets. Its medicated base ensures gentle cleansing while allowing effective contact with the skin.

Pharmacological Action

Cetrimide acts as a cationic detergent, disrupting microbial cell membranes and denaturing essential proteins, leading to effective antiseptic and antibacterial action.

Directions for Use

• Wet the pet’s coat thoroughly with clean water.

• Apply sufficient quantity of shampoo (approximately 0.5–1 ml per kg body weight).

• Massage gently against the direction of hair growth to ensure skin contact.

• Leave on the coat for 10–15 minutes.

• Rinse thoroughly with water.

• Use as directed by a veterinarian.
