Product details

  • Drontal Plus Tasty is a broad‑spectrum dewormer (anthelmintic) for dogs that treats multiple intestinal worms.
  • It combines three active ingredients to provide a wide coverage against common parasites.
  • It comes in chewable, “tasty” / flavored tablet form to make administration easier.
  • The pack you asked about contains 6 tablets.

Composition / Active Ingredients (per tablet)
Each tablet contains (bone‑shaped, flavored)
Active Ingredient Amount Worm Types Targeted
Praziquantel 50 mg Tapeworms (Dipylidium, Taenia, Echinococcus spp.)
Pyrantel Embonate 144 mg Roundworms, Hookworms (Toxocara, Ancylostoma, etc.)
Febantel 150 mg Whipworms, and works synergistically with pyrantel

Uses / Indications
Drontal Plus Tasty is used for:
  • Treatment of roundworms (ascarids) such as Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina
  • Treatment of hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, etc.)
  • Treatment of whipworms (e.g. Trichuris vulpis)
  • Treatment of tapeworms (e.g. Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp., Echinococcus spp.

Dosage & Administration
  • The usual guideline is 1 tablet per 10 kg body weight, or equivalently: 15 mg febantel / 14.4 mg pyrantel embonate / 5 mg praziquantel per kg of body weight (this corresponds to one full tablet per 10 kg)
  • For dogs of different weights, fractional tablets may be used (e.g. half tablet for small dogs)
  • It can be given directly in the mouth or mixed into food — no need to fast before or after dosing.
  • The frequency of deworming (i.e. how often to repeat) is to be determined by your veterinarian depending on your dog’s risk and environment.

Safety, Contraindications & Precautions
  • Not to be used in animals hypersensitive to any of the active ingredients.
  • Use caution (or avoid) in pregnant dogs, especially during certain trimesters — some sources say not to use during the first two‑thirds of pregnancy.
  • The manufacturer’s safety information warns to read the product insert for detailed contraindications.
  • Store in a cool, dry place, below recommended temperature (e.g. below 30 °C) and keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Ensure accurate dosing by weight — overdosing or underdosing can reduce efficacy or risk side effects.

Possible Side Effects & Reports
While many dogs tolerate it well, some side effects have been reported or discussed by pet owners (though their frequency is unclear):
  • Mild gastrointestinal upset: vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea
  • Behavioral / neurological effects: some owners report hyperactivity, restlessness, pacing, agitation after administration, especially in puppies.
  • Because many accounts are anecdotal, it’s not always possible to attribute these to the drug definitively — but they are worth being aware of.
If you observe any unusual or severe reactions after giving the tablet—such as persistent vomiting, seizures, or extreme agitation—stop use and contact your vet immediately.
