Corise Diarest O2 Suspension is a combination of Ofloxacin, Metronidazole and Simethicone for control as a support in the treatment of diarrhoea in dogs and cats. A combination of these drugs shows higher efficacy, broad-spectrum antimicrobial action, least incidence of side effects and both are well tolerated. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA replication or multiplication within the bacteria, preventing bacteria from reproducing. It is a broad spectrum of efficacy against gram (+) and gram (-) aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Metronidazole is a nitroimidazole with superior efficacy and a longer duration of action. It kills susceptible microorganisms by interfering with DNA functioning. Simethicone is used to treat the symptoms of too much stomach acid such as stomach upset, heartburn and acid indigestion. It is also used to relieve symptoms of extra gas such as belching, bloating and feelings of pressure/discomfort in the stomach/gut. Simethicone helps break up gas bubbles in the gut.
